Grow your business by (A) Watching more Reality TV...say those alligator hunters or (B) Learning how to make changes.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

I suppose I have a bit of a problem with Reality TV.

It seems to me all the episodes about alligator hunters, child models, cake makers, pawn brokers, storage closet people, and garbage pickers are diluting rather than adding to reality.

Go miniature: Take Baby Steps of change; take small chances & test for success; fail small & frequently; check out the book, 'Makers'.

Go home: when the going gets tough - take a time out...de-stress before you express

Of course, they can't help your business ... but don't let that dissuade you from filling in time watching them between all those excellent commercials.

Most business people spend more time watching 'Reality TV' than they spend educating themselves on how to do better business. This phenomenon is not limited to the U.S.A....it applies in Canada as well.

I want to witness great business music... not just tooting of horns, let alone too much start-up cacophony.

And, I have no intention of settling for less.

  • That may mean some new musicians - we must know where to find some good ones.
  • That will mean people need to stick to the score and song sheets.
  • That will mean unwavering conductorship.
  • And keeping up with the maestro.
  • That will mean much practice.
  • And some level of error will be acceptable...while repeated striking of bad notes and wrong chords will not be.
  • That will be covered with discipline for all and from all.

Discipline for all and from all...top-quality musicians want to be part of a good band and they know discipline-packaging is fundamental to the generation of great music.

Some folks are so brutal in front of faces they don't have to repeat themselves behind backs.

Constructive Criticism Is An Oxymoron.

When toxic people succeed in work environments that success is always short-lived...and the success comes at a high price.

And related to this...

If you feel compelled to repeat yourself make sure you don't do it behind people's backs.

And...

How is it that back-talk happens face-to-face?
