by Rick Baker
On Oct 18, 2012

Thought Tweet #589 Interest generates Attention; Attention generates Interest. That's a double-sworded edge you can use to advantage.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Learn from what they do, not from what they say.

Thought Tweet #588

by Rick Baker
On Oct 17, 2012

Thought Tweet #588 Why do so many people throttle back on learning as they mature and age?

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Are they disenchanted with work - uninspired?

Has 'the world' beaten curiosity out of them?

Do they not understand an active mind has the ability to self-sustain...to a ripe old age?

Thought Post #587 As our needs decrease our wants increase...in novelty, scale, and complexity...so far, wants are readily fulfilled.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

People's needs - like shelter, food, water - must be met. Not too long ago, the vast majority of our energy was spent fulfilling needs. Now, needs are easily met. So, our desires have escalated from needs to wants. Over the last generation or two, wants have become more novel, larger, and more complex. Even still, for the most part, these escalated wants have been easily met.

Thought Tweet #586

by Rick Baker
On Oct 15, 2012

Thought Tweet #586 The competitive-business climate has changed at least as much as the weather patterns.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Leaders must change...they must step it up a bit...they must show better leading by example...they must lead the way to better business activity and more-profitable times.

Thought Tweet #585

On Oct 12, 2012

Thought Tweet #585 Most of the time we know the right things to do, yet, often, we don't do those right things.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

In particular, we tend to do things that offer short-term gain over long-term gain. Dieting provides a good example. Most diets work if people follow them. Most people don't follow them. So, the reality is most attempts at dieting fail.

Thought Tweet #584 Mediocrity: living in bad-habit shadows.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Bad Habits follow us like shadows. Bad Habits make us mediocre. We can replace Bad Habits with Good Habits...it's a matter of choice...and commitment & self-discipline.
