Thought Tweet #831.5

by Rick Baker
On Sep 23, 2013

Thought Tweet #831.5 Bad apples don't have to spoil your trust...don't let bad apples sour your trust in people.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Without trust relationships are shallow and weak.

Don't let people's actions sour your trust.

Start With Self. On top of all the self-things I have written over the years, I'm adding self-trust.

We judge others by their actions; we judge ourselves by our intentions. We blame situations for our failures: we blame other people for their failures. We give credit to ourselves when we succeed: we give credit to their situations when other people succeed. (Attribution Bias)

Those are our tendencies.

Let's not allow those tendencies to draw too much of our attention to the bad apples.

Thought Tweet #831 Allies will help you build your business. Work to choose allies. And choose your allies carefully.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

And, work to build relationships with your allies. Work to understand their interests, their desires, and their needs. Work to find middle ground and opportunities that satisfies your needs and your allies' needs.

Thought Tweet #830

by Rick Baker
On Sep 20, 2013

Thought Tweet #830 Continuously driving to deliver value to other people is important because it energizes people.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Continuously driving to deliver value to other people is important because it energizes people by providing quality shareholder experiences, quality employment experiences, quality purchasing and payment experiences, quality sales and collection experiences and all of these quality experiences are taken home to families at the end of the workday. Quality experiences spread. Quality experiences are contagious.

Thought Tweet #830.5

Thought Tweet #830.5 If you are going to teach someone, first find out what they believe they already know.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Far too often, we jump into teaching. Far too often, we assume others do not know what we know.

Far too often, we conclude others are doing things poorly or incorrectly because they don't know what we know.

More often than not, we waste time and 'make work' when we assume and conclude others don't know what we know.

We can remedy this by asking simple questions before we give instructions and lessons.

Thought Tweet #829.5 They call them TV programs because they program your mind. But...why do they call those things Reality Shows?

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

We should program our minds with a better reality.
