Thought Tweet #672

by Rick Baker
On Feb 12, 2013

Thought Tweet #672 What appears to us as a treasure of difference often appears to others as a trash of similarity.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Marketing and sales people tend to think their products and services are different, i.e., holding a differential advantage over the products and services of their competitors. The marketing and sales people 'treasure' those differences.

Meanwhile, clients confirm they see little difference in the offerings of their suppliers; they see much similarity.

So, when we go on about the differences in our products and services and the advantages and benefits those differences bring to our clients we need to make sure we are not trash talking.
