Thought Tweet #661

by Rick Baker
On Jan 28, 2013

Thought Tweet #661 The brain doesn't contain gray matter. It's dark in there. I imagine some flashes of green and orange signals too.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

While I admit I am no brain surgeon, I don't believe the brain contains gray matter. Those "little gray cells" are a myth and a misnomer. It cannot be possible that the cells of our brains are achromatic.

Even after just a bit of thought, whose brain can seriously buy into brain-parts devoid of hue?

While some may argue it's tough to stain brain cells, that wouldn't be sufficient to paint our brain cells with the ho-hum description "gray".

PS: I might accept the existence of "little gray cells" if they prove that's where indecision happens.
