Loose lips sink ships…Loose cannons sink 'em too.

by Rick Baker

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Loose Cannons Fire At Will...and they fire at pretty much everyone else within earshot and nearshot. Loose cannons get unhinged before you can blink and they blast-fire with little or no warning. Sometimes their pins slip and they tilt and blow the planks right from under your feet...leaving you with nothing to stand on. And, sometimes, after repetitive volleys they cause your ship to list, take on water, and maybe even sink.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for loose cannons. When you hear them rumbling around and exploding, take corrective measures...for the sake of ship safety and security.

Criticism: Constructive Criticism is an Oxymoron | Humour | Thought Tweets

May your ego refuse to jump over molehills to join the mule trains climbing all those mountains!

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Sometimes those little voices in our heads goad us into thoughts and actions that really defy logic. Deep down we know the thoughts and actions are tainted and flawed, yet we allow them to grow and swell and sometimes get way out of control.

Sometimes we set aside all the good advice our mothers worked so hard to teach: for example, if you can't say something nice...

Sometimes we forget constructive criticism is an oxymoron.

Maybe, curiosity kills cats; definitely, curiosity motivates people.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Perhaps, many animals are curious. Certainly, some are...cats have a reputation for it. Human beings must be the most curious animal on Earth. Curiosity is in our DNA. Curiosity is the root of innovation, invention, and creativity.

[I don't think curiosity kills cats...it just makes them very interesting.]

Some things are worthy of forethought.

Some things are worthy of planning.

Some situations can and should be anticipated.

Mediocrity muffles motivation

by Rick Baker
On Apr 25, 2020

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

When you want to reduce the sounds coming from the power of an automobile engine, you use a muffler.

When you want to stifle motivation you can muffle it with mediocrity.

Nothing lulls motivation to sleep like a blanket of mediocrity.
