People want to hear positive messages…give them what they want...deliver some positive messages.

The Thinking Behind the Tweet

We tested positive and negative marketing messages. We tried both "in these tough economic times" and "to build for the future". We found our positive messages were twice as successful as our negative messages. So we work to keep our communications on the positive side of centre.

Sooner or later, entrepreneurship beats egos down to a successful size.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

To succeed for any extended period, an entrepreneur must have a balanced ego. When an entrepreneur's ego gets out of control, sooner or later, problems begin to arrive in waves. Like water on rough stones, repeated waves of problems take the cutting edge off of an entrepreneur's ego...offering the entrepreneur the opportunity to become a business leader.

Don't thumb your nose at the grindstone.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

If you cannot put your nose to the grindstone, you might be tempted to thumb your nose at it.

Thumbing noses at good-old-fashioned hard work is not a good strategy.

Quality work ethic is an important part of a life well lived.

Some say work mastery is bliss.

Do you commit to being useful every day from here to eternity? Has making yourself useful become one of your good habits?

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

We all have good days and bad days; our internal drive-energy ebbs and flows.

Regardless, we can commit to thinking and doing useful things...every day...for the rest of our lives.

[Why wouldn't we commit to thinking and doing useful things?]

[What reason could we possibly have for not committing to that?]

Anxiety is in our genes...it is the legacy of fight or flight, which allowed our ancestors to bring us us.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Anxiety: be present, don't fret over it, observe it in real time, & learn what it takes to control it if it gets out of hand.

In right-sized doses, anxiety energizes and hones focus.

In too-large doses, anxiety becomes a demon and destroys quality of life.

Embrace the realities of life...and do not be too disappointed in results.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Paraphrasing one of the messages Charles Haanel placed in 'The Master Key' (1917).

My take-aways...

When we focus too much on results we lose the connection between 'causes' and 'effects'. Best to focus and concentrate on 'causes' and when results are undesirable accept them as lessons.

The realities of life run deep...beyond the range of human understanding.

Avoid victim-think.
