Even when happiness appears to be all that's happening, it brings Value.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

There are many reasons why this is true. Here's one: when we are happy our faces show it, then others register that fact, and that at the very least eases anxieties and tensions in situations. Happiness tends to be contagious.

To lead, use light fingers at the controls. Heavy-finger governance and control just sends things off kilter.

From Wikipedia...

In 1868, James Clerk Maxwell wrote a famous paper "On governors” that is widely considered a classic in feedback control theory.

An early governor                              James Clerk Maxwell

In the 19th Century, Maxwell proved that tight governing of steam engine speed created bigger surprises than light governing.

We can apply this fact to 21st Century business process.

In business we need guiding principles and Master Rules.

Willpower, like any other good habit, demands much energy. So, we must use it wisely and regularly. We must drain it, rebuild it, and strengthen it.

Willpower [and its outcome, self-control]: you must use it or you will not have it.

I believe it has been clearly established that curiosity does not kill cats. I'm suspecting dog lovers created that myth...you should view that saying as anti-cat dogma.

Instead of dissing curiosity by repeating that anti-cat saying, especially to children - give a curious person a pat on the back!

Leaders do best when it is clear they have sacred rules, which we call “The Master Rules”.

Master Rules: these are rules set by the Leader and well-communicated by the Leader to all followers.

The Master Rules must not be bent. And, if they are broken then the consequences are clear and enforced. The Master Rules must capture the essence of the Leader’s Personal Values, mesh with the Leader’s Strengths, and serve as clear directions towards the Leader's Vivid Vision.

Courage is the 'Prime Enabler'. It enables self-analysis, self-confidence, curiosity, creativity, & innovation.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

It takes courage to face adversity. It takes courage to face criticism. It takes courage to face change

Children are born courageous and independent-minded. But, often, that is discouraged.

It takes wisdom to re-build courage.
