Thought Tweet #877

Thought Tweet #877 Our success in this world of other people increases when we develop abilities to observe people & understand them.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

The challenge is sometimes we are so self-consumed by aches and pains and daily stresses and strains we are oblivious to other people.

Good evening Rick,

Can you please elaborate? Understanding people on a psychological and human level?

Thanks

Will try, Adeel.

I mean I am seeing people struggling. They are struggling while performing tasks and they are struggling while communicating with one another about performing tasks. They are not exploring why they themselves are struggling with tasks. They are not exploring why other people are struggling with tasks.

They are witnessing task-struggles [i.e., living through them] without observing...observing being the first step toward understanding [self and then others]. They are not self-monitoring let alone self-regulating.

Stated another way: many people are so busy 'doing' they are not taking the time to think about why they are struggling. What's worse is - while they are too busy 'doing' they are both thinking and saying things like "I am too busy" and "I don't have time".

That's a spiral of bad habits.
