Ernest is a real honest guy. Even if The Boss didn’t know that he wouldn’t second-guess an explanation like that. But, that doesn’t do anything to ease The Boss’ anxiety about a 21st Century sales guy who loves white shoes. Why, it’s almost cliché! Why, you just can’t make stuff like that up!
