Thought Tweet #664 Are we doomed to a massive adaptational breakdown?
The Thinking Behind The Tweet
"...the roaring current of change, a current so powerful today that it overturns institution, shifts our values and shrivels our roots"
"...we are doomed to a massive adaptational breakdown"
Alvin Toffler, `Future Shock`, (1970)
PS: I think not...just a period of adaptational confusion.

Thought Tweet #663 When using the past to predict the future, choose only the proper pieces of your past as guides.
The Thinking Behind The Tweet
People love to make predictions... https://rickbaker.ca/post/2012/12/18/Thought-Tweet-632.aspx
"Rational behavior, in particular, depends upon a ceaseless flow of data from the environment. It depends upon the power of the individual to predict, with at least fair success, the outcome of his own actions. To do this, he must be able to predict how the environment will respond to his acts. Sanity, itself, thus hinges on man's ability to predict his immediate, personal future on the basis of information fed him by the environment."
Alvin Toffler, 'Future Shock', (1970)

Thought Tweet #662 Unknowns: it's a good thing we only have to deal with them when we solve problems, do tasks, & think creatively.
The Thinking Behind The Tweet
I've read there are 3 types of knowledge:
- knowledge we know we know
- knowledge we know we don't know
- knowledge we don't know we don't know
If we didn't have those things we know then everything would be unknown.
