Thought Tweet #397

by Rick Baker
On Jan 24, 2012
Thought Tweet #397 "Courage begets strength, fear begets weakness. And so courage begets success, fear begets failure."

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
Ralph Waldo Trine wrote that in 1896. We don't use the word 'begets' too much any more. However, the logic of the old words still rings true. The quote illustrates why Spirited Leaders value Courage.

Thought Tweet #396

Thought Tweet #396 "Past and future are dreams; now is a reality. All things are now; all power, all possibility, all action, is now."

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
British author/philosopher James Allen said that in 1903. It seems to me Allen's advice is a key to what most people refer to as 'time management'. I mean, if people pay more attention to the present and less attention to agonizing over the past and worrying about the future then they will feel less stressed...and they will feel like they have more time.

Thought Tweet #395 "Build excellent support around you: excellent relationships will boost you."

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
That’s a good piece of advice from Jack Canfield. He states it as a strategy for building self-confidence. And, self-confidence is a good thing! I mean, don't the vast majority of people want to feel self-confident?

Thought Tweet #394 Change happens when people experience New Things….as in 'Good Habits, Bad Habits, & New Things'

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
And, those 3 things - that’s all people do. People Only Do 3 Things: Good Habits, Bad Habits, New Things. Here's a link to explain the thinking.

Thought Tweet #393

by Rick Baker
On Jan 18, 2012
Thought Tweet #393 “No, no, you're not thinking; you're just being logical.”

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
The Danish physicist, Niels Bohr, said that. And, Bohr's point applies in business. In business, we often hear people talk about 'doing the right things' as opposed to 'doing things right'. 'Doing things right' is all about doing process 'right'…doing a good job when performing logically-generated processes. 'Doing the right things' is about dealing with people 'right'...doing a good job when working with people.

Thought Tweet #392 "We bemoan the loss of our forests. We worry over the dwindling resources of coal and oil."

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
and..."We decry the waste in our factories.” This is a quote from Robert Collier, 'The Secret of the Ages' (1926). This book was written the year my father was born. Clearly, some of the current worries are not new worries.
