Sales Tweet #331

by Rick Baker
On Oct 24, 2011
Sales Tweet #331 The Boss has a sign on his office wall. It reads – “I like buyers…fried…with onions.”

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
…which just goes to show...despite his crusty, gruff, loud, bulging-vein exterior…deep down, The Boss is really a funny man.

Sales Tweet #330

by Rick Baker
On Oct 21, 2011
Sales Tweet #330 Last week Ernest Seller’s barber overdid it. So, Ernest had to take a short cut home.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
Ernest’s barber is one of those guys who talks a lot. Sometimes he gets excited and moves his hands around a little more than the average barber. I don’t know whether it’s true or not but there’s a local rumour the fellow has swept up a few ears.

Sales Tweet #329

Sales Tweet #329 Ernest Seller is collecting fishing jokes for his buddies. Here’s one: What do deaf fish wear? Herring-aids.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
Yes, Ernest Seller loves everything about fishing. When he can get away with it he uses his fishing license as a form of I.D. Here's another one of Ernest's favourite fish jokes: What did the sardine call the submarine? A can of people!

Sales Tweet #328 "Put your best people on your best opportunities, not your best problems." Jim Collins

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
Spirited Leaders likes this Collins’ advice for a number of reasons. Here are two: (1) It aligns with an abundance mentality and (2) it aligns with how most people’s strengths can be put to best use.

Sales Tweet #327

by Rick Baker

Sales Tweet #327 The New Guy can’t work the office coffee machine. The Boss is close to calling it grounds for dismissal.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
But, The Boss knows the importance of not rushing into such action. So, as The New Guy was mopping up all the coffee mess, he decided to ease into the process with a question, “By the end of the week, how long will you have been with us?”

Sales Tweet #326

by Rick Baker
On Oct 17, 2011
Sales Tweet #326 Then Mr. Kaye says, “Ernest, you’re just like a broken pencil…you’re missing the point.”

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
And you know how Mr. Kaye loves to challenge Ernest Seller…especially when Ernest is in the midst of a sales spiel. After all, Mr. Kaye is Ernest’s favourite client…he figures that gives him the right to stir up the pot from time to time. So, he took the dullest pencil from his pen & pencil holder and he thrusted it in front of Ernest as he tried to explain. But…it was pointless.
