When you make a fine argument...shut up, listen, watch, & learn.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

First, learn about the extent of the fineness of your argument. I mean, bring your thick skin and thin skull...and keep your ego under full control.

Was your argument really as fine as you thought?

Don't let a few bad apples sour your trust in people.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Without trust relationships are shallow and weak.

Don't let people's actions sour your trust.

Start With Self. On top of all the self-things I have written over the years, I'm adding self-trust.

We judge others by their actions; we judge ourselves by our intentions. We blame situations for our failures: we blame other people for their failures. We give credit to ourselves when we succeed: we give credit to their situations when other people succeed. (Attribution Bias)

Those are our tendencies.

Let's not allow those tendencies to draw too much of our attention to the bad apples.

Self-discipline brings out the value embedded in talent.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

When discipline is absent Talent is dormant, submerged, and wasted.

That's why discipline is a good thing.

Discipline serves a key role when success is in action.

With the pressing of all those buttons, the 30-Second Elevator Speech is going down.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

As you no doubt have noticed, there's been quite a bit of growth in the area of social media. This is impacting on good-old-fashioned sales work. The sales gurus are now recommending a 17 or 18 second Elevator Speech [AKA - 30-Second Commercial...or, should I say 17- or 18-Second Commercial?].

I favour shrinking the Elevator Speech to zero and, if and when the time is right to sense & catch attention, using words less canned and more natural.

Thought has two forms: one is Creative, the other is not.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

It seems I  am on the verge of concluding Thought is either Creative or Destructive...never in between the two.

Our Creative Thoughts are aligned with our true Goals...leading to productive building and growth.

Since all other thoughts are not aligned with our true Goals they subtract from achievement of our true Goals...leading to things that are not productive building or growth. Their effect is distraction from our true Goals, which is negative, making them "Destructive Thoughts".

The great teachers didn't dwell on stress. They focused on the human virtues.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

'Stressed' is a modern mindset...less than 100 years old.

Stressed: You have to look long and hard to find ancient wisdom mentioning it.

Stressed: don't forget it's just a reverse palindrome for desserts.
