We can choose to multi-task and struggle or we can choose to task-multi and win.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

If we try to cram multiple pieces of work into a time frame we lose focus and dilute concentration. The result is, at best, a mediocre pile of lower-calibre work.

If we focus our efforts to generate a single excellent result from a single piece of work during that time frame, we have the potential for work mastery.

If plan how to generate multiple future results from a single piece of work then focus our efforts to generate a single piece of work during that time frame, we have the potential to create excellent work and accomplish much more. We can, for example, build excellent things once and sell them many times. And, we can deliver huge value.

Give yourself injections of that oxymoron, Constructive Criticism

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Create a Do It Yourself Hormesis Program, aimed at thickening your skin and building your tolerance for other people's shortcomings.

CAUTION: If you are like most people then your initial tolerance for criticism will be unbelievably low...so start with very low doses of self-criticism. And, build the doses up slowly over time...until you are able to face your screaming vein-bulging face in the mirror.

Loose lips sink ships…Loose cannons sink 'em too.

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Loose Cannons Fire At Will...and they fire at pretty much everyone else within earshot and nearshot. Loose cannons get unhinged before you can blink and they blast-fire with little or no warning. Sometimes their pins slip and they tilt and blow the planks right from under your feet...leaving you with nothing to stand on. And, sometimes, after repetitive volleys they cause your ship to list, take on water, and maybe even sink.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for loose cannons. When you hear them rumbling around and exploding, take corrective measures...for the sake of ship safety and security.

Criticism: Constructive Criticism is an Oxymoron | Humour | Thought Tweets

May your ego refuse to jump over molehills to join the mule trains climbing all those mountains!

The Thinking Behind The Tweet

Sometimes those little voices in our heads goad us into thoughts and actions that really defy logic. Deep down we know the thoughts and actions are tainted and flawed, yet we allow them to grow and swell and sometimes get way out of control.

Sometimes we set aside all the good advice our mothers worked so hard to teach: for example, if you can't say something nice...

Sometimes we forget constructive criticism is an oxymoron.
