Sales Tweet #151

by Rick Baker
On Feb 14, 2011
Sales Tweet #151 #1 Client, Mr. Kaye, says Ernest Seller is like glue...he is always getting stuck on himself.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
Some sales people go off topic by talking on tangents. The tangents take them far away from the topic and the Client is not able to follow. Ernest doesn’t do that. He doesn’t go off on tangents. Ernest talks in spirals. That happens often, and it often happens sooner not later. At the centre of Ernest’s spiral-talk you will find – Ernest. Ernest starts with a topic then spirals the conversation to – Ernest. That’s what Mr. Kaye, Ernest’s #1 Client, is talking about.

Sales Tweet #150

Sales Tweet #150 Ernest Seller gets carried away with the sound of his own voice...but, not far enough.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
After thinking more about Sales Tweet #144, I have decided it is more accurate to say “Ernest gets carried away”. And, as I suspected the Boss has confirmed he thinks Ernest should get carried away. The Boss would do it himself. But, Ernest is a big fellow…well over 6 feet. And, the Boss is a smaller fellow…about 5 feet 6 inches. That reminds me…I haven’t spent much time describing the Boss. I will work on that.

Sales Tweet #148 Ernest Seller is a self-made man...some say “That's why his head is so big”.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
To be clear: there's nothing wrong with having an extra-big head…as long as it is used properly…for example, consider the Woodpecker.

Sales Tweet #146

Sales Tweet #146 Ernest is ambidextrous, he doesn’t favour the right or the left...he's self-centered.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
Now I want to make sure I paint the right picture of Ernest Seller here. It is true Ernest is self-centered. But, he isn’t the type of fellow who orders other people around. He is just real happy with himself and it shows. His happiness shows a lot. And, that confuses other people who see Ernest as…well…not extremely competent. From time to time, Ernest talks about his accomplishments…but that’s not out of control or anything like that. Ernest brags a little…not a lot.

Sales Tweet #144

Sales Tweet #144 From time to time Ernest Seller takes great pains - and gives them to others.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
Ernest does not mean to be a pain in the body parts of his Clients, his Boss, or his coworkers. It just happens. It is fair to say Ernest Seller can be inept. Maybe it would be more accurate to say Ernest gets carried away. On the other hand…if we asked the Boss then the Boss would tell us he wishes Ernest would get carried away.

Sales Tweet #143

Sales Tweet #143 People can learn from their mistakes. Wow - Ernest Seller sure has a master teacher.

The Thinking Behind the Sales Tweet
Yes. It is true. Ernest Seller makes a lot of mistakes. There’s good news and bad news. The good news is mistakes provide learning opportunities. The bad news is those learning opportunities do not happen until the mistakes are recognized as mistakes. Oblivious is bliss.
